shaheed udham singh biography is an Indian revolutionary who is known for taking revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre from General Dyer. It is the biography of Shaheed Udham Singh who made countless efforts to take revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and finally succeeded in shooting General Dyer in London.

Childhood: He was born on 26 December 1899 in Sangroon District in Punjab, basically his real name was Sher Singh and His father name was Tehsil Singh Kamboj who was a Railway Crossing watchman. His mother died in 1901 then father in 1905.

after the death of parents, Sher Singh along with his brother Mukta Singh Kamboj were taken to an Orphanage named Central Khalsa where Udham Singh name  was given to Sher Singh and Sadhu Singh was given to Mukta Singh. All the Sikh customs were followed in the Orphanage .The Environment of Orphanage was good where he learnt many skills. Because of this he was good at art and craft and machinery repair. In 1917 his brother also died and he left the orphanage after passing his matric.

Jallianwala Bagh Massacre: Protesting against the Rowlatt act all over the country mainly in Punjab, Over Twenty Thousand  people were assembled at Jallianwala Bagh protesting against the Rowlatt Act peacefully. The Jallianwala Bagh was surrounded by the  British police and General Dyer ordered the troops to shoot the people present there. he with his friend were there to serve water and food to the crowd on the occasion of Baisakhi on 13 April 1919  when the incident happened. This incident made he full of anger and determined to take revenge.

Revolutionary: Taking the determination of revenge ,he then moved to America and worked in a car company as a tool maker for a short period and returned to India, joined Babar Akali group and learnt militant activities and  also involved in Bhagat Singh’s group. he followed the Bhagat Singh, who had been his Idol. He was arrested by the British Police under the Arms Act because he had a revolver secretly brought from Babar Akali group, did not have license of the revolver and he was sent to jail.

General Dyer Death: He then went to London and found difficulties in searching for work.so he worked somewhere as a tool maker, carpenter and extras etc. employment was not easy to get there for him. On 13 March 1940, there was a Speech of General Dyer in a speech ceremony in Caxton hall London where he booked a seat for himself and dressed up perfectly like an English Gentleman and concealed a revolver in a book. As soon as General Dwyer finished his speech then Udham Singh shot him with a 6 fire round and was arrested by police. 

On 1 April 1940 he was taken to custody in the charges of murder of General Dyer a in Brixton prison. Udham Singh had a hunger strike of 42 days in jail and had to break forcefully by British police. His trial commenced on 4 June 1940 at the central criminal court and convicted of murder  and sentenced to death. Udham Singh was hanged on 31 July 1940 in Pentonvile Prison  in London.
