An indian pilgrim is an autobiography of Subhash Chandra Bose is an  unfinished autobiography of Freedom Fighter Subhash Chandra Bose which talks about his works, done for the benefits of society along with the country. Contribution of Netaji into the activities done by him to get India free from slavery of British. Who kept Nation above all things. It is written by Subhash Chandra Bose himself but it is an unfinished autobiography, not completed by him. 

Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Orrisa to the Middle Class Family. His Father’s name was Jankinath Bose and mother was Prabhavati Bose. he was born in a big family . He was one of 14 siblings. He was an introvert by nature.

On his 5th birthday he got news from his father about going to school. he was very happy and got admission in school which was a  missionary school where only English customs, history were taught. They did not teach about Indian  Cultures, languages and customs to students there, not even about Indian history. They only focused on English Customs and  He did not like it and criticised it. But he enjoyed his schooling. He was very coward in childhood.

In school his teacher Mr. Benny Madhav Das was his first idol. When Mr Benny Madhav was taking his last class he wished the class good luck for a better future, this made Bose cry badly. Thereafter he took  admission in RENSHAW College for further studies in 1909. At a very early age  Bose was influenced by Swami Vivekananda.

in his autobiography he wrote that One day he read the article of Swami Vivekanand and was inspired by the ideology of Swami Vivekanand and Ramakrishna Paramhans and followed the path of them. Made  Swaminandan and Paramhans his Guru and  he overcame his fear and Started thinking like them, this made his parents worried about his rebellious attitude . But he respected his parents.

One day he discussed his thoughts to a Monk about how life should be utilised and got spiritual. The monk advised him to respect the parents because parents called the form of god. The parents were very surprised to see the changing behaviour from the day. He kept his parents above himself.

He followed the teaching of the Swami Vivekananda, Swami Vivekananda told that god generally comes in the form of the poor. We must help the poor, and aim for life to serve the poor. He joined the presidency college and saw four kinds of groups there. First was  Elite class and second was Studious class Third was follower of Swami Vivekanad and Parmahans and last was Revolutionary Group and He early found the group of people who followed the ideology of Swami Vivekanand and Paramhans.

Subhash Chandra Bose shared the incident When Bose went to study in Presidency college, Calcutta. He saw the real conditions of Indians and the British treated Indians very badly there and Indians were not allowed to sit in scholar examinations. On holidays with his group went to the Village to serve them. Then he was surprised to see the reaction of villagers the villagers  were affected by the discrimination of British. He realised the situations of Indian people who died on mass level due to Cholera disease when he returned to his hometown to serve cholera Patients. This made him determined to improve the conditions of India.

He was designated as a head of the Students Council. Mr O manhandled the students .Subhash Chandra complained to the principal about this incident and told the principal that Mr. O needed to apologize but the principal denied and students went on strike. That incident was highlighted in the newspaper and Mr. O apologized and this matter settled down there.

After some time again Mr. O manhandled some students this time reaction by the Students to Mr O. Subhash Chandra Bose was watching this manhandle standing over there. again principal called Subhash Chandra Bose and principal held him responsible for this act and rusticated from the college. Principal was very impressed to see his courage .

He then appealed to the Mukherjee Commission to defend his case but spoiled his case by complaining of the college. The higher authority ordered the decision to remain. The political scenario  in Calcutta was getting worse so his brother called him back to Cuttack so he thought of serving the poor.

After some time he got admission in Scottish college and did B.A and M.A. His elder brother Sharat Chandra Bose suggested to prepare for ICS . At that time clearing ICS was very tough for Indians. He then left for England and started preparation for ICS there and topped the ICS and then refused to join the ICS . He wanted to join Politics to serve the country.

Returning to India, he joined politics. In 1923 Subhash Chandra bose was elected the president of All India Youth Congress and became secretary of West Bengal. He thereafter published Journal and newspaper for the national interest. he was then arrested due to working in national interest. There was a huge difference between the Ideology of Gandhi and Bose . both were working for freedom but using different ways.

When the Bose party was elected as president of Congress by defeating the candidate of Mahatma Gandhi. But in 1939 Bose had resigned from the party and formed his own party. On 6 July 1944 Bose announced the Mahatma Gandhi ‘’Father of the Nation” by the Azad Hind Radio while addressing the people.

When the British police were about to arrest him, but did not arrest due to health issues, he ran away to Afghanistan disguised as pathan with the help of his brother in 1941 and he formed the Indian National Army(AZAD HIND FAUZ) by prisoners of war . In 1943 Subhash Chandra Bose Addressed the people of India by the Azad Hind Radio from Berlin and  had formed a  Separate women unit named Rani of Jhansi Regiment and made Laxmi Swaminathan head of regiment.

Subhash urged Germany to help India in war and Japan also helped INA and helped to reorganize INA. India and Japanese  were defeated by the British Army and many people were given prisoners of war and Court Martial was done on Shahnawaz Hussain Gurbaksh Singh and P.K. Sehgal  who was leading the Indian National Army on the Red fort of Delhi in 1946. Seeing this Court Martial and Indian Soldier Refused to fight .

 It is said that On 18 Aug 1945 Subhash Chandra Bose died in a Japanese Plane crash in Formosa now it is Taiwan while returning to India. After his death two commissions issued their report over his death, first report  by Shahnawaz Commission in 1955 and second report by Khosla Commission in 1970 .Both commissions said in report that death was due to third degree burns.

But Mukherjee Commission Denied the report issued by Shahnawaz Commission and Khosla Commission but it is not yet confirmed whether he died in a plane crash or not. This mystery still is unsolved.
